15 rounds fired, nine hit: Man returns from Singapore for wedding, shot dead in brutal Faridabad parking dispute

FARIDABAD: A man was shot dead by his neighbour following a dispute over parking in Faridabad, Haryana, on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Paramjeet Dhankhar. Police have registered a case against the neighbour, identified as Mohan alias Monu Sharma, and launched an investigation.

According to preliminary police findings, the accused fired 15 rounds from his licensed pistol, nine of which struck Dhankhar. The accused subsequently fled with his family but was later arrested by police at DLF Chowk in Ballabgarh.

Dhankhar was employed with an IT company based in Singapore. He had arrived in Faridabad two days earlier to attend his nephew's wedding, scheduled for November 24. He lived with his wife and two children in an apartment on the first floor of the building.

The dispute occurred around 8 pm on Friday when Dhankhar returned home from the gym. He got into an argument with Monu Sharma, who lived on the third floor of the same building, after asking him to move his car from Dhankhar's designated parking space. The verbal altercation subsequently escalated into a physical fight. Monu then arrived at the parking area with a pistol and opened fire at Dhankhar.

Police said the two families had been involved in disputes for a considerable period. Dhankhar's son had repeatedly objected to Monu's son bringing his pet dog into the parking area. A similar dispute had broken out between the families four or five days before the shooting. Investigators said the issue had been resolved on those occasions.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
