NEW DELHI: All India Students' Association (AISA) president Neha Bora launched a sharp attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the BJP, alleging irregularities in the Election Commission's functioning and the revision of electoral rolls. Speaking at the INDIA bloc's 'public impeachment' event against Kumar, Neha Bora alleged that efforts were under way to deprive people of their voting rights. She urged the Election Commission to stop actions that, according to her, were weakening democratic institutions.

Neha Bora accused Gyanesh of forgetting his responsibilities as Chief Election Commissioner. She sarcastically remarked that he would be better off relinquishing the post and taking up the role of the BJP's election manager instead. She asserted that she would fight to any extent to protect citizens' democratic rights.
In another allegation, Neha Bora said the present government was following methods of repression similar to those employed during British rule. She compared the alleged detention of freedom fighters after making them sign peace bonds during British rule with the present government's treatment of people raising their voices in defence of democratic rights.

Neha Bora also criticised the RSS and the BJP, referring to the alleged lathi-charge on protesters carrying the national flag and incidents of sexual violence against women.

Irregularities in the electoral rolls formed the central focus of her speech. She alleged that Form 6, intended for registering new voters, was being forcibly filled out by existing voters as well. She further accused those involved of misusing Form 7, which is used to raise objections to the inclusion of names or seek their deletion from electoral rolls, and Form 8, which is meant for shifting residence and correcting electoral roll entries, to carry out irregularities.
She warned that such alleged interference in electoral procedures directly affected voters' rights and created a situation in which the very foundations of democracy were being called into question.
