NEW DELHI: Israel raised an alarm about rising cases of terrorism near the Indian border. Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar said that Hamas' terrorist activities are increasing in India's neighbouring countries, and he feared that it may prove to be a threat to India’s security. He said this during an interview granted to a national media.

“Hamas' activities have been strong in Pakistan and Bangladesh since the Palestinian attacks on Israel on October 7. Currently, covert terrorist activities are taking place there. There is a possibility that these movements will be adopted as a model for terrorist organisations, and this will pose a danger to other countries,” Reuven Azar added.

Azar said that he conveyed to India his concern about the spread of Hamas activities in neighbouring countries. He added that he has personally expressed his interest in holding further discussions with Indian officials and taking effective precautions.

Azar said that Israel would not trust Pakistan's efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran to restore peace in the Middle East. He also stated that Israel is watching the new diplomatic moves between the United States and Iran with caution.
