THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been hiked again, with an increase of Rs 12.50 per cylinder. However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders. With the latest hike, a commercial cylinder now costs Rs 2,840 in Kochi, Rs 2,870 in Kozhikode and Rs 2,860 in Thiruvananthapuram.

Last month, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was increased by Rs 66.50. The continued rise in international crude oil prices is cited as the reason for the latest hike. The increase is expected to deal another major blow to the hotel industry, which relies heavily on commercial LPG cylinders. There are also concerns that the rising fuel costs could lead to another increase in the prices of food served at hotels and restaurants.
