NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday said a fresh phase of the Jantar Mantar protest would begin soon. Dipke said several people had been asking on Instagram when the next phase of the protest would begin and that his announcement was in response to those queries. He did not disclose further details about the proposed protest, including its date, venue or issues.

Recently, Dipke extended his full support to a protest by school students and their parents in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, seeking a motorable road. He pointed out that children still had to take to the streets for basic infrastructure that should have been addressed earlier.

Meanwhile, Dipke said the CJP had faced considerable difficulty in booking a hall in Delhi for a volunteers' meeting. He alleged that several hall owners told the party they could not provide a venue because of “pressure from above”.

Dipke further alleged that the owner of the hall eventually secured by the party was threatened. He said such developments showed that the BJP feared the country's youth and asserted that such threats would not deter them. The allegations have not been independently verified.
