Woman dies after tipper lorry rams scooter from behind

ALAPPUZHA: A woman died after a tipper lorry hit her scooter from behind in Alappuzha. The deceased has been identified as Annie Babu (56), wife of Babu of Chennithala South. The accident occurred near the Mavelikkara Government Hospital at around 10 am.

Noticing the tipper lorry approaching at high speed from behind, Annie had moved her scooter as far to the left side of the road as possible to give way. However, the lorry rammed into the scooter. The impact threw her onto the road, and the rear wheel of the tipper lorry ran over her head, killing her instantly.
