Woman dumps lover's body after killing him to avoid being sold into sex racket

MUMBAI: A woman killed her lover and dumped his body in the bathroom, accusing him of trying to sell her to a sex racket. The crime happened at a rented apartment in Kalyan East, near Dombivali in Maharashtra. Both are from West Bengal.

The dead has been identified as Hamidilla Islam, 37. The police have intensified search for Hasiba (35), who fled to Kolkata after committing the crime. The incident came to light after the woman sent a voice message to the flat owner after the murder. On being informed by the landlord, the police team reached the spot and broke the bathroom door and entered, where they found the body stuffed in a sack.

In the voice message sent to the landlord, the woman said that her lover had brought her to Kalyan from Pune two months ago and that his plan was to sell her to a sex racket. The message said that the murder was committed in self-defense.

The residents told police that a foul smell was emanating from the apartment for the past few days. However, they were unable to identify its source. A police team has been sent to Kolkata to trace and arrest the accused.
