KASARGOD: The police have registered a case against a 25-year-old woman for sexually abusing a girl, aged 16 while she was sleeping at home. The Melparamba police registered the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case against Sneha Merlin of Taliparamba.

The accused is friend of the girl's mother living near the Melparamba police station. The woman, who came to the house on the day of the incident, abused the girl. The girl did not tell anyone about the incident out of fear. She opened up during counseling. The police then registered a case under the POCSO Act. The police said that there are four cases against the accused, including one for abusing a boy and a girl, who are siblings. She is also an accused in a criminal case.

Sneha was arrested last year for abusing a 12-year-old girl. The girl abused was in the Taliparamba police station limits. The teachers, who became suspicious of the girl’s behavior informed her parents. The girl then disclosed about the abuse during counseling.
