KOCHI: Two more have been arrested in connection with the gangrape of a married woman, who was held captive for two days. The second accused identified as Sharanya alias Ammu and the third accused Sanju were arrested from Wayanad Wednesday morning.

Sreeraj (30) of Irikkavu in Alappuzha, the spa operator and the first accused, along with the fourth accused Jith Martin (27) of Thevakkal, were arrested on Monday. The woman was sexually abused by Sreeraj, Jith and Ammu. The victim stated that Ammu abused her the most.

The woman came to the spa after seeing an advertisement on OLX for a manager’s post. She was given alcohol and drugs before being held captive and sexually abused her for two days. The woman finally escaped from the custody of the criminal gang after threatening to commit suicide. The incident happened on October 2nd and 3rd.

The accused intended to confine the woman, sexually abuse her, and hand over her to others. Her husband narrated the severe ordeal she endured to the media. The woman, who suffered both physical and mental trauma, is presently undergoing treatment at the Kalamassery Medical College. She has injuries all over her body. She had previously worked as a teacher but had lost her job. She was also not fit physically following a miscarriage. She was in search of a job while trying to cope with the mental stress. The police will record her detailed statement once her health improves.
