Complaint against student in Kollam for circulating morphed images of teachers and friends in obscene sites

KOLLAM: A student of a government polytechnic college in Punalur, Kollam has been suspended following a morphing complaint. The action was taken against Achuth S, a student of fifth semester of electronics and electrical branch. The complaint is that he circulated the morphed images of teachers and students in obscene sites. The SFI is staging protests in the incident.

Achuth’s classmates and teachers filed a complaint against him. Upon receiving the complaint, the college authorities summoned the student and questioned him in the presence of his parents. He was suspended after he confessed to the crime.

However, it is heard that a police case has not been registered in the incident. The principal has filed a complaint with the Punalur Police and the Kottarakkara cyber police. According to reports, the police are recording the statements of the complainants and following this, further action will be taken.

The SFI is staging protests seeking the termination of Achuth from the college. The protesting students also demanded his arrest.
