THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details have come out regarding the incident where a woman was murdered by her husband in Udiyannoor near Nalanchira. According to police, Haseena Beevi, a native of Mannanthala, was killed after her husband, Suresh, allegedly slit her throat over suspicions regarding her personal relationships. The incident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the rented house where the family had been living for the past four months. Police said the couple had a history of frequent quarrels. The murder took place in the presence of their children.
The family had moved to Nalanchira from Vattiyoorkavu earlier this year. Their ongoing domestic disputes had previously drawn police intervention. On Tuesday, both Suresh and Haseena were summoned to the police station, where officers advised them to settle their differences amicably. However, less than 24 hours after returning home, the dispute turned fatal.
After Suresh attacked Haseena, their daughter Amritha reportedly informed the police by phone. Officers arrived at the scene and rushed Haseena to a hospital, but her life could not be saved. Seven people, including the couple and their four children, were living in the rented house. Reports suggest that the couple had been facing marital problems for some time. It is believed that Suresh suspected Haseena of having another relationship.
Police said Suresh allegedly used a kitchen knife to carry out the attack before fleeing the scene. A search has been launched to trace and arrest him. Forensic experts and police officials have conducted evidence collection at the house, and further investigation is underway.
