Kollam bakery turned into battleground: Youths clash over prior enmity; severe damage reported

PUNALUR: A violent clash erupted between two groups of youths at a bakery near Post Office Junction in Punalur, Kollam, on Thursday night, causing widespread damage to the establishment. The incident took place at the Ambassador Bakery at around 9:00 PM on July 2.

According to local residents, the altercation was triggered by a prior enmity between the two groups. What began as a heated verbal argument outside the establishment quickly escalated into a physical conflict that spilled inside the premises.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the youths storming into the bakery and violently attacking each other using chairs and other available items. The shop's interior sustained significant damage during the brawl.

Following the incident, the bakery owner approached the authorities and filed a formal complaint with the Punalur police, handing over the CCTV footage as evidence. However, latest reports indicate that the police are yet to register an official case regarding the matter.
