Bar attack in Vembayam; Aneesh, who set fire succumbs to burns

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aneesh, who sustained serious burns in the fire at the bar in Vembayam, has succumbed to his injuries. Aneesh (32), who came to the bar with petrol and set afire had sustained more than 70% burns. He died Wednesday afternoon while undergoing treatment in the medical college hospital. Navas of Thekkad, who suffered burns in the clash that broke out, died on Monday. With this, two people have died in the incident.

The incident happened last Sunday at 9.30 pm. While consuming liquor, Navas slapped Aneesh. Enraged over it, Aneesh left the bar, returned with petrol, poured it on the group and then set them ablaze. A security guard who witnessed the incident said Aneesh ran out of the bar engulfed in flames. The others who sustained burns are undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital.
