Man arrested for stabbing relative to death in Idukki in drunken brawl

IDUKKI: A man accused of murdering his relative under the influence of alcohol has been arrested at Pulluppara in Idukki. The dead has been identified as Binu of Elamkadu. The police have taken the accused Thankachan into custody. The incident occurred Saturday night.

Thankachan and Binu were close relatives and friends. An argument broke out on Saturday while consuming alcohol and in a fit of rage, Thankachan stabbed Binu to death.

After the murder, Thankachan informed the fire and rescue services about the murder. He initially told the fire force officials that Binu had met with an accident. However, the officials did not find it convincing and informed the Peruvanthanam police. The police then arrived at the spot and took Thankachan into custody.
