Job fraud: Woman arrested at Thiruvananthapuram airport

KOCHI: A woman who had been absconding abroad in connection with job fraud cases was arrested at Thiruvananthapuram airport. Parvathy Maya Shaji (36), managing director of Amster Immigration Overseas, was arrested for allegedly cheating people from various parts of Kerala by promising them jobs abroad.

Parvathy, a native of Perumbaikad, Kottayam, was wanted by the Kochi City Police, which had issued a lookout notice against her. She was detained by the authorities after arriving at Thiruvananthapuram airport from Dubai and handed over to the Palarivattom Police.

Parvathy’s husband and owner of the firm, Aneesh Menon, along with coordinator Abhijith Nair, general manager Aju K. Mathew and manager Vishnu Vijayan, are also accused in the case.

Police said Aneesh Menon is absconding. The company’s office near Changampuzha Park in Edappally was the main centre of the alleged fraud. Parvathy had fled to Dubai after the Palarivattom Police registered a case in January.
