Youth hacked to death after neighbours dispute turns fatal during liquor session

KOLLAM: A youth was hacked to death after a dispute that broke out between neighbours turned fatal during a liquor session. The incident happened Wednesday night at Moozhikode in Kollam’s Kottarakkara. The dead is Adarsh (30) of Nellivilabhagam. The police have nabbed his neighbour Sunil Kumar (41).

The police believe that the murder was committed last evening between 6 pm and 11.30 pm. The murder happened in Sunil Kumar’s house. Adarsh and Sunil Kumar were sitting here and drinking alcohol. Sunil Kumar had come from another place and had been living there. According to the police, the incident was triggered when Adarsh referred to Sunil Kumar as an ‘outsider’ (varathan). Preliminary information says that Adarsh was hacked to death with an axe taken from the house.


Sunil Kumar himself informed the police about the murder. The accused is presently in the custody of Puthoor Police.
