‘Congress in Kerala is leaderless’; CPI should be brought to UDF, says Rajmohan Unnithan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rajmohan Unnithan MP expressed dissatisfaction over the uncertainty regarding the KPCC president. He said the Congress party in Kerala is in a leaderless situation. He also said that the present KPCC president and Minister Sunny Joseph, is not someone who wants to cling to the post.

‘Sunny Joseph had already informed the concerned his decision that he cannot continue in this post. The KPCC needs a strong leadership. There should be leadership at the district level. Those who worked hard for the party, struggled on the streets and made sacrifices for it should be given consideration for posts in corporations and boards. All these decisions require leadership within the party.

We should also consider expanding the alliances at the individual level. Parties including the CPI should be brought into the alliance. The party should give the green signal for that. The CPI is a party with politically committed cadres. They are against corruption and communalism. A meeting is being held the day after tomorrow, and I will express my opinion publicly there.

Things cannot move forward in a secret manner. There should not be a Pinarayi Vijayan within the Congress. It is unknown why there has been such a delay in choosing the president. I remain firm in my belief that I am the most suitable one to become KPCC president. Even if I get nothing, I will be a congressman until I die. Deciding the president based on caste equations is immoral,’ he said.
