NEDUMANGAD: A circle inspector in an intoxicated condition created a ruckus at the Nedumangad police station. He demanded the release of two accused from the lock-up. The cops have taken the aggressive officer Yahya into police custody.

The Nedumangad police had taken four into custody Thursday evening. They had weapons in their hand. They were taken into custody on receiving information that they were going to attack someone. All four were then put in the lock-up at the Nedumangad station.

Yahya reached the Nedumangad station at around 12.30 pm today, demanding the release of two of the four taken into custody. They are Yahya's relatives. When the police were not ready to release them, Yahya created a ruckus after entering the cell. He later lay on the floor inside the station. Yahya, who was intoxicated, was forcibly taken into custody by the police and taken to the Nedumangad Taluk Hospital. It is reported that he was not subjected to a medical examination.

The district superintendent has sought an immediate explanation from the Nedumangad DySP over the incident. Yahya is a constant troublemaker officer. Actions including transfer were taken against him.
