Vismaya Mohanlal is set to debut in movies with ‘Thudakam ’, which will hit the screens this Onam. More than her debut movie, Vismaya was in the spotlight last week after getting mired in a controversy for expressing her views on the CJP protest against the NEET irregularities.
Vismaya, daughter of superstar Mohanlal, faced criticism from some quarters for her comments. Even Mohanlal’s close aide Major Ravi implicitly critiqued Vismaya for having zero know-how in politics. Nonetheless, there were supporters too, as youths and left political outfits praised the superstar's daughter for having the nerve to stand against the government.
In a latest interview with host Rekha Menon, Vismaya addressed the topic yet again but with more clarity.
“I stand by what I said. We are in a democracy, and we have the right to question. Instead of using force, we should engage in dialogue more. Politics should never supersede your humanity. Regardless of which party is in power, I would say the same,” Vismaya responded.
