22-year-old woman found dead; Husband taken into custody

THRISSUR: A 22-year-old woman was found dead at her husband’s house. The victim has been identified as Emilda of Pariyaram in Kannur. She was found in a weak condition at her husband Afsal’s house in Potta on October 6. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Karukutty, but her life could not be saved.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death in the incident. Her body has been shifted to the mortuary of St James Hospital in Chalakudy. The post-mortem report has not been released yet.

Emilda and Afsal got married two years ago. The couple has a child. The police have taken her husband into custody and are questioning him. The reason for her to take the drastic step is not clear.
