KOCHI: A 36-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Karukutty in Angamaly. She has been identified as Florence of Puthiyathura Thazheveettuvilakam in the Karumkulam panchayat of Thiruvananthapuram. Police said the body, which was found in a naked state, is believed to have been dead for around four days.

Florence had been living alone in a rented house at Palliyangadi in Karukutty. The back door of the house was found open. Police are also investigating the possibility of murder.

The woman is believed to have moved to Karukutty about four months ago. She was selling lottery tickets in the vicinity of the Angamaly KSRTC bus stand. A broker had arranged the rented house fore her. When the broker was unable to reach Florence by phone for several days, he informed Karukutty panchayat president Babu Sani.

The panchayat president said that when he came to her house, it was found locked. Informed the police after a foul smell was emanating from the house. Forensic experts and a dog squad are conducting an examination.
