KOZHIKODE: The postmortem report contained crucial information in the incident of finding a youth dead in his house. The death of Biju (38) of Palayam Puthiya Kovilakam Parambu Nagar, is a murder. There were 45 injuries on Biju’s body. There were 18 stab wounds on the front and back of his neck. The investigation team believe that a kitchen knife may have been used for the attack.
The police, who have registered a case in the incident, are also investigating whether the drug mafia is behind the murder. His family had revealed that a verbal dispute had broken out between the two. Biju had informed the police about the public drinking and drug use in the ground adjacent to his house as part of 'Operation Toofan'. It is reported that enmity over this may have led to the murder.
Biju's body was handed over to his relatives after postmortem at Kozhikode Medical College. The investigation is progressing under the leadership of City Police Commissioner A P Shoukathali, focusing on the CCTV footage nearby.
Biju, a bachelor was into cattle business. He lived in a one-room house in Kovilakam Parambu. Although Biju's mother Baby was in another house nearby, she did not hear any commotion. When she went to call Biju to milk the cow in the morning, she found the door locked from outside. When she opened the door, she found Biju lying in a pool of blood. She then informed the neighbors and the police. The attackers may have locked the house after committing the crime.
