Arjun Ayanki mocks whether people missing in sea have been found; he had been hiding in Payyannur lodge

KANNUR: Reports say Arjun Ayanki was hiding in a lodge in Taliparamba. He fled to Payyannur in an auto after making sure that the police would reach here. He called his friend from the auto driver's phone and asked him to come with a car. Arjun Ayanki then went to meet his friends, a lawyer couple, in the car to Kannur.

Meanwhile, the auto driver, who grew suspicious, informed the Kannur police. After examining the CCTV footage and confirming that it was Arjun Ayanki, the police reached the lawyers’ apartment and arrested him. Ayanki had arrived at the lawyers’ apartment at around 3 pm on Saturday and was arrested at around 2:30 am on Sunday.

Arjun was arrested in the case registered for insulting Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. Speaking to the media, Ayanki said that he had not challenged the police and had only spoken about what he believed to be reasonable. He also asked sarcastically whether people who went missing in the sea have been found. The police are investigating in detail to find out who all helped Arjun Ayanki to go into hiding and the various places he stayed while evading arrest.
