KOZHIKODE: CPM state secretariat member M.V. Jayarajan has lashed out at former DYFI activist and gold-smuggling case accused Arjun Ayanki, who is currently absconding and openly challenging the police on social media. Jayarajan said Ayanki should be “caught like a Toofan”, clarifying that he was calling for his arrest, not his execution.

Jayarajan said it was surprising that a person accused in several cases was openly challenging the police. He also demanded that Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala show the strength to arrest Ayanki.

“Arjun Ayanki should be caught like a Toofan. I am not saying he should be hanged to death; he should be caught. The Home Minister should show the strength to do that. The police should use their resources and go wherever Ayanki is and arrest him. It is surprising that a person accused in several cases is walking around challenging the police,” M.V. Jayarajan said.

He also said the party does not need any support from quotation gangs.

“The party does not need any support from quotation gangs. If anyone is ready to support Ayanki, it should be considered that they are supporting quotation gangs. When Ayanki said that he belonged to a party that had grown, he was referring to a quotation party. He could not have been talking about a party that had completely rejected him,” Jayarajan added.
