Professor K K Abdul Gaffar, sole witness in infamous Rajan case, dies at 89

KASARAGOD: Professor K.K. Abdul Gaffar (89), a former teacher of Kozhikode Engineering College, and the only witness in the controversial Rajan case during the Emergency, passed away on Sunday.

Gaffar worked as a teacher at Kollam T.K.M. College and Kozhikode REC College and as the principal of Bhatkal Engineering College. The statement of Professor Abdul Gaffar, who was a teacher at Kozhikode Engineering College (REC), was crucial in the Rajan case.

He was a member of the Indian team that worked for the advancement of education in Aden, Yemen. Gaffar was the founder and director of administration of the Ajman Gulf Medical College.

Wife: Ummul Barkat Jamila. Children: Farida Ghaffar, Dr Jamalunnisa Ghaffar, Shahnaz Ghaffar, Dr Shajir Ghaffar. Sons-in-law: Yakub, Anees, Nishad, and Moushmi.
