PARAVUR: Police said the man accused of removing the fuse from a transformer at Kaitharam North in Paravur, the constituency of Chief Minister V D Satheesan, is absconding. Police said the suspect has left Kerala and efforts are underway to catch him.

The person who removed the fuse has been identified through CCTV footages. Police said that he belongs to Kaitharam. A woman nearby also saw him removing the fuse.

After identifying the accused, police went to his house to make inquiries. However, he escaped through the back door. The fuse was removed in September. Police launched an investigation after registering a case based on a complaint filed by officials of the KSEB Ezhikkara section.

There have also been incidents in which unidentified persons removed fuses at Ettiyodath in Perumbadanna under the Paravur section and in the Chakkathara and Aavutti areas under the Ezhikkara section. As a result, power supply was disrupted in these areas for several hours.
