BJP extends support to flood-hit Kerala, Party to mobilize all workers to help people

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP has stepped in to provide relief to people affected by the heavy rains across the state. BJP state chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar has decided to intensify relief efforts in the flood-hit areas. He also informed that BJP workers across the state should be active as part of this.

He has asked all the workers to come forward to help the people in distress. He expressed grief over the loss of many lives and damage caused by heavy rains and flash floods and said that the union home ministry is closely monitoring the situation.

The BJP workers are taking care of urgent issues like setting up camps, cleaning works and removing obstacles on the roads. Call centres and help desks have already started functioning in various districts up to the panchayat levels. He informed that the BJP is also ensuring emergency assistance including food distribution in the affected areas.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar asked the state government to ensure that rescue operations and relief aid reach every affected family and that those who have lost their homes and livelihoods get timely support.

The situation in many areas including Ranni, Wayanad, Idukki and Kottayam are still very serious. The BJP has formed a special committee at the state level to coordinate relief operations in various districts. A special team led by BJP MLA B B Gopakumar, general secretaries advocate S Suresh, Anoop Antony and vice president K Soman is responsible for coordinating the relief efforts.
