MANALIPUZHA RIVER

THRISSUR: A car that plunged into the Manalipuzha River in the flash floods was finally brought to shore on Tuesday. The car was swept away on the 5th of this month. Sinan, a native of Chavakkad, who was in the car at the time of the accident, miraculously escaped.

The electric car worth around Rs 17 lakh was swept away from a small road leading to the national highway. The fire force team tried several times to pull the car to shore, but the strong current in the river proved to be a challenge.

As the water level receded, locals and fire force officials started searching for the car again this morning. They tried to pull it out using a crane, but the rope broke multiple times, and the car fell back into the river. With this, the fire force and locals went directly into the river and pulled the car out after a day of valiant work.
