'Yes, the marriage is over;  I'm at peace, I'm happy and I feel safe': Aparna opens up

Jeeva and Aparna Thomas were a popular celebrity couple who made a mark on both television and social media. They became popular among Malayalis through their humour, witty counters and entertaining style of presentation. Recently, several reports suggested that the couple were heading for a separation. On their wedding anniversary today, Jeeva confirmed their separation through a social media post. Soon after, Aparna Thomas also came forward with a post, providing more clarity on the matter.

Aparna confirmed that their 11-year-long marriage has come to an end, saying she was aware that many people were waiting for her response. She admitted that it was a difficult decision, but said she now feels happy and at peace.

'I know a lot of you have been waiting to hear from me, so this is me speaking to you directly. Yes, the marriage is over. It didn't work out, and honestly didn't want to continue. It was not an easy decision, I believe for both of us but it was one I needed to make for myself.

And today, I can genuinely say I'm at peace, I'm happy, I feel safe, and I feel so much lighter than I have in a long time. I don't want to get into what happened or explain every detail because some things are deeply personal. I just want to move forward and live my life peacefully. Please respect my/our privacy and give me/us that space. That's all I ask. I hope you'll understand.'
