THRISSUR: Renowned nuclear scientist and communist thinker Dr M.P. Parameswaran passed away on Tuesday. He was 92. Parameswaran died at his residence in Thrissur and had been long battling age-related ailments.
M.P. Parameswaran's alternative political model ‘Fourth World Theory’ once paved the way for major theoretical discussions among the Left and the CPM in Kerala. Following this, Parameswaran was expelled from the CPM in 2004. He was an active member of the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad.
Parameswaran's work was crucial in strengthening public discussions on science, technology and development and in instilling a scientific temperament among the populace. His writings and speeches are considered to have laid the foundation for progressive and intellectual circles to sprout in Kerala.
