Fund shortage: Digital resurvey to be temporarily suspended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Revenue Department has decided to temporarily suspend its much-publicised digital resurvey project due to a shortage of funds. According to an order issued by the Director of Survey, only the required contract employees and hired vehicles will be retained. The services of the remaining contract staff and rented vehicles will be suspended from August 1.

Digital resurvey work is currently being carried out in 228 villages across the state. Around 3,500 temporary employees appointed for the digital resurvey project have not been paid their salaries for the past four months.
