MALAPPURAM: A video of a melee between customers and staff inside a restaurant in Malappuram is now doing the rounds on social media. It is reported that many were injured in the clash, while the restaurant reported damage to chairs and tables and other utensils.
As per details, while serving the dishes, the staff purportedly told the customers that the fish they ordered would cost around Rs 200. However, when the bill came, the same dish was priced at Rs 300, leading to a bitter altercation between staff and customers.
The restaurant named ‘Choorum Meenum’ is a sought-after eatery destination in the area and was packed with customers at the time of the incident. In the video, women and children can be heard screaming while the fight continued.
As per the rules, it is required that the restaurant display the rate on the menu card before taking orders from customers.
A fish item that was quoted at ₹200 in the menu card became ₹300 in the final bill. This resulted in fisticuffs between the diners and the staff at the Chorum Meenum Hotel in Malappuram, Kerala. pic.twitter.com/LZdVUMRzkD
