KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has taken a decisive step on the plea alleging that the memory card in the actress attack case was leaked. The court directed to hand over the memory card and the pen drive to the registrar. The court instructed the trial court to produce them in a sealed cover in the high court. The plea was considered by Justice Dias’ single bench. Earlier, two judges had recused themselves from considering the survivor’s plea. Justice Kausar Edappagath and Justice Jobin Sebastian recused themselves.

The survivor approached the high court seeking a re-investigation into the illegal examination of the memory card, which is a crucial piece of evidence in the case. The court, which accepted the plea on file, said that it would hear detailed arguments in the case. The court asked the prosecution to submit a reply in this regard within a month. The court also clarified that the inquiry report needs to be examined in detail.

The survivor alleged that the memory card, which is the main evidence in the case, was illegally examined while it was in the custody of the trial court. The demand is for a new investigation under the supervision of the court. The survivor had also demanded that the memory card be transferred to the custody of the high court. The high court has now intervened in this regard in a positive manner. The survivor filed the new plea through Vrinda Grover, a famous advocate in the Supreme Court.
