Private bus that collided with a two-wheeler while speeding intercepted and stopped by Ashamol Kuriakose

KOCHI: A woman stood in front of a private bus and blocked it after the vehicle allegedly hit a motorcycle at Edappally Junction on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 9.30am. The bus was reportedly travelling at high speed and repeatedly honking when it hit the motorcycle carrying Mattancherry native Muhammad Rizwan and his friend, Edappally native Ashamol Kuriakose. The impact broke the motorcycle's brake lamp.

When Rizwan questioned the incident, the driver and conductor allegedly confronted him. The driver then moved the bus forward and hit the motorcycle, which was stationary at the time, dragging it along the road for some distance. Seeing this, Ashamol stepped in front of the bus. Police arrived at the scene and moved her away.

Rizwan and Ashamol have lodged a complaint with the police against the employees of the 'Wahbiya' bus, which operates on the Thevara route.
