PATHANAMTHITTA: CPM state secretary MV Govindan reacted to A Padmakumar's shocking revelation regarding removing ADGP S Sreejith from the sanctum sanctorum on the day women entered Sabarimala. MV Govindan responded that Padmakumar doesn’t deserve any answer, as he is currently facing party action in the Sabarimala gold looting case. MV Govindan added that those who want clarification on this matter should contact Padmakumar himself.
The party will take strict action against Pathanamthitta District Committee member A. Padmakumar, who is accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The CPM state leadership has purportedly instructed the Pathanamthitta District Committee. Padmakumar only renewed his party membership last week. Now, it is reported that the CPM is considering expelling him from the primary membership. The district committee meeting to be held tomorrow will make a decision. State committee members will also attend the district committee meeting. Padmakumar has been a member of the Pathanamthitta District Committee since its formation.
CPM admitted in its review report that taking no action against Padmakumar at the beginning of the Sabarimala gold theft case affected the results of the assembly elections. After his release from jail, Padmakumar was removed from all party responsibilities. The CPM state leadership decided to take organisational action against Padmakumar as part of corrective measures.
The district committee has been tasked with discussing the action to be taken against Padmakumar. The district committee will also discuss the state committee's review report on the assembly election defeat on the 15th.
