MALAPPURAM: The Muslim League held a meeting on Saturday to review the 100-day performance of its ministers, MLAs and MPs. The party leadership advised the Education Minister not to rush into any decision regarding the PM SHRI scheme. Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal also advised ministers and elected representatives to exercise caution in their public statements and interactions with the media. He asked them to ensure that no controversies arise and to be careful about their social media posts. His remarks came against the backdrop of the controversy surrounding K M Shaji’s luxury car. However, Thangal did not mention Shaji by name.

Minister Shamsudeen informed the meeting that the state could not withdraw from the PM SHRI scheme. However, the leadership advised against taking any hasty decision on the matter for the time being. Minister P K Kunhalikutty told the meeting that the appointment to the Administrative Reforms Commission was made after discussions within the front and with consensus. He said there was no substance in the controversy surrounding the appointment.

The review meeting is being held at Vazhayur in Malappuram. An orientation class attended by experts was also organised on development activities to be undertaken in the constituency and across the state. The meeting directed the representatives to prepare development plans based on the discussions.
