KOLLAM: B. Neeraj, who secured 89th rank nationally and first place in Kerala in the NEET re-examination, aims to study MBBS at AIIMS, Delhi. The Karunagappally, Kannetty native scored 692 marks out of 720 marks.
Neeraj had dreamed of becoming a doctor since the eighth grade.
Neeraj is the youngest son of Kottayam Arpookara Village Officer G Biju and Thevalakkara Primary Health Centre Staff Nurse S Rekha. Neeraj started NEET training when he entered class 11. He aims to study in the country’s best institution—Delhi AIIMS. Neeraj studied up to class 10 at Karunagappally Lord's School and later joined Kottayam KE Mannanam School. Neeraj passed Plus Two by scoring 1194 marks out of 1200. After that, he joined the Pala Brilliance Coaching Centre.
Neeraj was dejected when the government annulled the first NEET examination because he had written it so well. Neeraj exuded a sign of total relief after he came out, completing the re-exam. Much to his surprise, Neeraj found the second exam easier than the first one. It was the same fact that Neeraj was not that surprised when news reached his 89th rank. Neeraj’s brother B. Niranjan is a third-year MBBS student at Mount Zion Medical College, Pathanamthitta.
