PALAKKAD: The sentence of Chenthamara, the lone accused in the Nenmara dual murder case, will be pronounced on Monday (July 20). The sentence was originally scheduled to be delivered today. However, the court considering the case postponed the sentencing to July 20. The sentence will be pronounced by the Palakkad Additional Sessions Court. The prosecution has sought death penalty to the accused, who committed a heinous crime.
Chenthamara hacked his neighbours Sudhakaran and his mother Lakshmi to death on January 27 in 2025. Chenthamara had also murdered Sudhakaran's wife Sajitha on August 31, 2019. The court had sentenced Chenthamara to double life imprisonment and a fine in this case. He killed Sudhakaran and Lakshmi while he was on parole during the trial of the Sajitha murder case. He hacked Sudhakaran’s wife to death believing that she was the reason for his wife to estrange from him.
