
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate additional long-distance bus services in view of the expected travel rush during the Onam season. The additional services will be operated based on the anticipated rush from August 21 to 25 and from August 29 to September 3. Passengers will also be able to book seats in advance.
Special interstate services to and from major cities, including Bengaluru and Chennai, began on Wednesday and will operate until September 2. More services will be added on these routes depending on passenger demand.
The KSRTC Budget Tourism Cell has also arranged special trips to major tourist destinations within and outside the state based on passenger interest. The corporation has decided to operate as many scheduled services as possible on all days except Thiruvonam. Services on major routes will be rescheduled and additional services will be introduced on holidays.
A new Volvo Executive Class service between Alappuzha and Bengaluru has also been launched. An Executive Class service between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam will begin today.
Passengers can obtain bus information and book tickets by sending a ‘Hi’ message to 9447071021 on WhatsApp. Advance bookings can also be made through the Ente KSRTC Neo OPRS mobile application, the KSRTC website and KSRTC reservation counters.
