Permission denied to shoot Mohanlal’s film at Sannidhanam; forest dept cites HC order

PATHANAMTHITTA: The forest department denied permission to shoot Mohanlal’s film ‘Athimanoharam’ at Sannidhanam, citing the latest Kerala High Court order. The temple and surrounding area fall within the Periyar Tiger Reserve. However, permission has reportedly been granted to shoot the film in the Ranni forest division area up to Pampa. Reports say the shooting will be held there tomorrow. The devaswom board had earlier granted permission to shoot the film.


Athimanohara is directed by Tharun Moorthy and stars Mohanlal in the lead after the blockbuster film Thudarum. Mohanlal plays a police officer named Lovlajan, and Meera Jasmine is paired opposed him. Other casts include Mukesh, Jagadish, Manoj K Jayan, Irshad, Vishnu G Warrier, Pramod Veliyanad, Kiran Peethambaran, Viji Viswanath, Bhama Arun, Prarthana, Sajeevan and many others.

The screenplay is written by Ratheesh Ravi, with Shaji Kumar handling cinematography. Jakes Bejoy composes music for the lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar. Binu Pappu is the co-director; editing is by Vivek Harshan and Ashiq Usman is producing the film under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions.
