THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall across the state. A 'Yellow Alert' was issued for four districts—Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, and Palakkad—for today. A Yellow Alert has also been issued for Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts for tomorrow. The current weather advisory remains in effect until Wednesday.
IMD predicted moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h in isolated areas. The term 'heavy rainfall' refers to a situation where precipitation ranges from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
