THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan said the Enforcement Directorate's letter in the monthly pay-off case had been handled in accordance with the law. Speaking at a press conference, he said the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau would register a case against Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan and that an FIR would be filed soon.
Satheesan said the matter had not been taken personally and that he had maintained from the beginning that the law would take its course. He added that the government had not shown any unnecessary haste in the matter.
"The High Court's verdict directing the registration of a case against Pinarayi Vijayan is not a setback for the government. The government had sought legal advice, which recommended examining the matter before registering the FIR," the CM said.
Explaining the Cabinet decisions, the Chief Minister also said the 100-day action plan had been implemented effectively. Of the 588 projects planned, 568 had been successfully implemented, he said.
