NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court dismissed the plea filed by the accused seeking the transfer of the trial court in the Shuhaib murder case. The plea was filed by three accused, including Akash Thillankeri, seeking to transfer the trial court from the Thalassery Third Additional Sessions Court to any other court.
Akash Thillankeri, Rajil Raj and Jithin approached the Supreme Court, alleging that they would not receive a fair trial at the Thalassery Third Additional Sessions Court, where it is presently underway. However, the state government informed the Supreme Court that the accused were deliberately attempting to delay the trial.
The Kerala High Court had earlier rejected their plea seeking a change of trial court. A Supreme Court bench led by Justice K V Viswanathan refused to interfere with the high court's order and dismissed the plea filed by the accused.
