Seven-year-old boy giving new lease of life to five by donating organs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A seven-year-old boy identified as Yash Wan of Tirunelveli will give a new lease of life to five people after declared brain dead. He was declared brain dead last night while he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. His parents then agreed to donate his organs.

The organs are being transported from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode by road. The police have set up a green corridor for this purpose.

Yash was seriously injured after being hit by an ambulance while crossing the road on his bicycle. He was then taken to a hospital in Tirunelveli and later to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for better treatment. His two kidneys, liver, heart valve and cornea are being donated.
