'Behave or will nab you from party office'; SFI leader faces threat from Cantonment SI

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM is staging massive protests over police entering a university hostel and roughing up students amidst the unrest in the capital. In response, the party had also announced a march to the residences of Cantonment SHO Satheesh and SI Gokul. Meanwhile, the CPM released an audio clip featuring SI Gokul, in which the official can be heard threatening SFI District Secretary Nandan.

"I am Cantonment SI Gokul; if you march to my house, we will enter your party office and nab you. Do whatever you can. The arrest was postponed only because the Home Minister said so. If you behave properly, we will too show the nicety. We know where you are," the audio states.

ADGP P Vijayan ordered an inquiry into the audio clip. He directed the City Police Commissioner to investigate the matter and take immediate action. Meanwhile, a cyber investigation was launched into an incident where threats were issued on social media using photographs of Cantonment SI Gokul. Additional security has been provided for SI Gokul. A case was also registered against six DYFI members for assaulting police officers.
