THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Breather for former chief minister Oommen Chandy's personal assistant Tenny Joppan in the solar financial fraud case. The high court has granted permission to drop Tenny Joppan from the list of accused. The order was passed while considering his plea filed in the high court seeking cancellation of the charge sheet.

This is a case filed by Mallelil Sreedharan Nair against Joppan. Tenny Joppan was the third accused in the case. Joppan was made accused based on Sreedharan Nair's statement that he had pressured him to pay money to Saritha Nair. The only arrest in connection with Oommen Chandy's office in the solar case was that of Joppan’s.

Sreedharan Nair had informed the high court that he was not interested in proceeding with further action against Tenny Joppan in the case. The court was also informed that the case between the two had been settled out of court. Following this, the high court ordered to drop Joppan from the list of accused.

Tenny Joppan responded that he is submitting the high court verdict to Oommen Chandy. He also said that he is grateful to God. He added that he was harassed to crucify Oommen Chandy and the pain he and his family had been suffering for 13 years has been resolved. Joppan, who said that the enemies were not outside but within, alleged that IG Hemachandran slapped him when he was called for questioning before his arrest.
