CHERTHALA: The SNDP Yogam director board has strongly protested against what it described as a social media campaign by a person named Subhash that allegedly distorted and mocked the physical features of Sree Narayana Guru and belittled his significant spiritual and social contributions. The board also expressed deep concern over the emotional distress caused among devotees of the Guru.

The director board appreciated the timely intervention of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister. It urged the state government to conduct a comprehensive investigation into Subhash’s qualifications, including his doctorate, his study of tantric practices and claims of tantric authority, the functioning of his private temple and the puja rituals conducted there. It also sought an inquiry into complaints related to black magic, financial dealings with devotees, and the sources of assets allegedly disproportionate to his income. The board called for strict legal action based on the findings of the investigation.

The director board extended its full support and solidarity to the protest march and dharna being organised by various unions on the 6th to Subhash’s private temple at Peramangalam.

The board also gave a “big salute” to Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar, who, despite sustaining injuries in an attack by the co-pilot aboard a Flydubai flight on the Dubai–Tel Aviv route, displayed exceptional courage and commitment to duty and ensured the safety of the aircraft, thereby saving the lives of 182 people.

The meeting was held at Karappuram Residency under the chairmanship of Yogam President Dr M.N. Soman. General Secretary Vellappally Natesan presented the report. Devaswom Secretary Arayakandi Santhosh, Yogam councillors and director board members attended the meeting.
