VENJARAMOOD: A 38-year-old teacher died after falling ill soon after eating homemade tuna fish pickle and boiled tapioca. The deceased has been identified as Dhanya, daughter of the late Balan Pillai and Shanthakumari of Panikkarukonam, Manalimukku. The incident took place at her rented house in Kaniyapuram. Dhanya, a teacher at a private school in Mangalapuram, was staying in a rented house in Kaniyapuram for the convenience of travelling to work.

Dhanya returned home from school on Wednesday evening and ate tuna fish pickle and boiled tapioca. She vomited soon after eating the food. Although she was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, her life could not be saved. An allergy to one of the food items or food poisoning is suspected to have caused her death. She is survived by her husband, Sreejith, and daughter, Shraddha.
