Tragic death for senior citizen after head gets stuck in lift of house

PATHANAMTHITTA: A senior citizen died after his head got stuck in the lift. The dead has been identified as Mathukutty (75) of Kadammanitta. The accident happened in the lift built in his house in the model of a service lift.

Mathukutty's house is located a little higher from the Kadammanitta Road. The lift was fitted outside the building to allow easy access to the house from below. Mathukutty used the lift to reach the top as he was physically unable to climb the stairs to his house. The accident happened when he was taking the lift as usual. It is not clear how his head got stuck in the lift. Only Mathukutty's wife was at home at the time of the incident. The fire force team arrived and brought the elderly out of the lift.
