Ganeesh Kumar, Co-operative Bank Manager and CPI(M) leader, found dead

KOZHIKODE: P.K. Ganeesh Kumar (50), branch manager of the Thaleekkara branch of the Kakkattil Co-operative Bank and a local CPI(M) leader, was found dead on Monday morning at the Muruvassery Reading Room near his house.

Ganeesh Kumar, a former CPI(M) local committee member, had been relieved of his party responsibilities after the last local body elections. He also served as the area secretary of the Karshaka Sangham.

Police suspect mounting financial liabilities may have led to the death, though investigations are continuing. The Kuttiady police completed the inquest and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
